January Favourites

February 08, 2015

Even though Christmas and New Year feel like a faint and distant memory, January seems to have flown by. The first month of 2015 has been a good one - it might have been cold and snowy, but my new fitness and healthy eating resolutions are going well. That's right, not only are they still actually being adhered to *insert shocked sounds here*, but they're actually going really well and i've found myself enjoying it more than I ever thought I could. Perhaps i'll go into more detail in another post soon. Anyway, sticking to the point of this post, lets delve into my January 2015 favourites...

I ran out of my Nuxe lip balm just before Christmas and luckily managed to find a little gift set with both the balm and this cream for just a few pounds more than the cost of one. From the very first use, I knew this cream was a good'un. It nourishes dry hands without leaving behind that annoying greasy film; and the smell... oh my gosh. I have on several occasions just sat and sniffed the stuff it is that good.

This is perhaps my favourite glitter polish ever - I have such a soft spot for rose gold. I basically wore this all December as it's just so festive, but I couldn't quite bring myself to give it up in January!  I'm okay with that though, after all, I did stop eating a mince pie a day and wearing my Christmas jumper in January so putting away the glitter would just be too much to give up - Life's a balance and all that!

I've actually been wearing this daily since November but apart from my 2014 favourites, I haven't really had much of a chance to talk about just how down right awesome this stuff is. A layer or two of this does it all - lengthens, curls, adds volume and separates lashes. As it's water-resistant it won't budge either, even if you decide to do a hard core work-out, there won't be a smudge or flake in sight. It is quite tricky to get hold of in the UK but it's definitely worth persisting. I picked mine up from Beauty Mart on a quick trip to London but i'm stalking the website for a backup. There is also a waterproof version that I'd happily give a whirl too as I imagine it's most likely just as dreamy.

I'm a huge fan of the Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover, but it is a rather pricey addiction. In a bid to save a few pennies I opted to give the Rimmel version a go after hearing rumours that it was similar. They were right. It might take a few seconds longer, but this stuff gets rid of eye make-up with ease and without any irritation. For under £4, I'm not scared to finish a bottle either!

You may not be surprised that i'm still wittering on about how much I love this palette. Everything about it is just so beautiful. It is marketed as limited edition but often these things have a way of reappearing permanently (i'm certainly hoping so). if you can't get your hands on this though, i'd recommend buying the individual blushes. Im currently loving the muted plum shade Mood Exposure.  Despite looking quite brown in the pan, it translates beautifully on the cheek and brightens up my increasingly pale winter complexion instantly. I'd probably be mistaken as a ghost without it.

I have an ever growing obsession with Rifle Paper - I would own their whole shop if I could. This clear phone case with a white floral pattern on the back has been on my wishlist for a while. I finally found it in stock online from a British company called Papermash (here) and ordered it immediately. Two days later (thank's to Papermash's super speedy delivery) it was on my iPhone and I don't think i'm ever going to take it off! I love how it lets the gold colour of the phone show but also adds a little something extra to make it a bit more personalised.
