♡ Jouer Matte Moisture Tint

June 28, 2013

I've never been much of a fan of tinted moisturizer, I tend to find it a tad on the 'shiny' side, so when I discovered Jouer's matte moisture tint, I had added it to my online shopping basket within minutes!

I've actually had this moisture tint since March, but I've been so undecided about it that I haven't been sure what to write! I think it's safe to say that this is by no means a bad product, it's just not exactly what I was hoping for. For a tinted moisturizer it has relatively good coverage, still really light but enough to neutralise redness. Despite not being entire matte, the finish is also lovely. It's very natural and radiant, though if you are looking for a true matte finish this probably isn't for you. My main problem with it however, is that I have found that despite looking lovely when first applied, only an hour later it seems to have become patchy and shiny. Even with a setting spray and powder I seem unable to make this product last on my dry/combination skin. The palest shade available (porcelain) is also slightly too dark for my ghost like complexion which probably doesn't help matters either. Maybe when i'm sporting a bit of a tan I might give it another go, but for now it's unfortunately sentenced to a life collecting dust.

The Jouer matte moisture tint is available from Cult Beauty for £29. Have you tried it already? Did it work for you?

  3. I really want to try Jouer products but I just don't feel confident to choose a shade online, without seeing the product against my skin tone first. I don't think photographs of swatches convey the actual colours truthfully.

It's a bit frustrating that the brand is only available online.

  4. That sucks that it wasn't as good as what you expected - especially for the price :/ you'd expect a bit more!

  5. I was interested in this because it's matte and just like you I usually find Tinted Moisturizers shiny. But I don't know... It's so expensive for a TM, wish I could get a sample x

  6. I have been considering buying this but haven't because of the price and I can never find shades light enough when there is only 3 shades or something like that (story of my life!). And know you mentioned that the lighest is not THAT light I think I'm going to hold off on the purchase. Great review! :)

  14. This is such a shame about it going patchy and shiny, and like you this shade will still probably be too dark for me :(

  18. I've heard so many mixed reviews on this product but I've yet to try it myself. Some people love it and some people are like you, undecided. It's a shame you didn't like it as much as you expected, I feel like I definitely need to try it now to form my own opinion!
