January favourites
January 31, 2016January is one of those weird months that seems to go so quickly, yet it feels like months since Christmas. Despite the slight lull after the festive season, I really love starting fresh in January and enjoying the cosy winter nights.
There's been some quite chilly weather this month so L'Occitane's Cherry Blossom hand cream has been my dry hand saviour. As I walk to and from work, my hands are rather exposed to the elements and can end up a bit worse for wear. A couple of blobs of this stuff has been keeping the cracks at bay and it smells pretty divine too.
As it has been so cold recently, I've been loving indulging in a lush filled bath once in a while/most days. Lush's bubble bar, the comforter, is one of my favourites for creating a pink and bubbly tub of goodness. Lush's Rose Jam shower gel has also been making my bath time a little more special as it smells so sweet and heavenly. I probably should have stocked up in the Christmas sale as I have a feeling this is limited edition.
I've never been one to care much for highlighter but this month I've become obsessed with the stuff. I've been using Mac's Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skinfinish on a daily basis across my cheeks and brow bone for a soft glow that brightens up my pale winter complexion. I think I've had this highlighter for quite a few years now as I had to dig it out of the very depths of my collection, so it's probably about time I pick up an alternative - any recommendations?
My current Essie shade of choice is this beautiful pinky beige in Spin the Bottle. I love how it literally goes with everything, it's just so easy to wear. If I'm feeling adventurous I've been adding a light coat of gold shimmer over the top.
I was so excited to finally receive Deliciously Ella's new book which I had on pre-order for what seemed like years! I loved her first book but this one is perhaps even better. There are so many delicious recipes and inspiration that I want to cook everything at once!
My final favourite this month is Booja Booja's hazelnut chocolate truffles. These are completely dairy and gluten free but they taste amazing - I dare say even better than normal chocolate. They are quite expensive but if you're dairy free or just trying to cut down and look for a healthier alternative then I couldn't recommend these enough.
I hope you've all had a great start to the year so far! What have you been enjoying this month?
