Falling in love with Sunday
January 17, 2016
For years, I hated Sundays. I use to spend the entire day dreading whatever was in store for me on Monday morning and let what could have been a great day slip by.
In more recent years however, Sunday has become my most favourite day of the week. Rather than spend the whole day worrying about something out of my control, I'm learning to appreciate the moment more. Sunday's are now time for me to relax and do things that I love before the week begins again. I thought i'd take the time to list some of my favourite things to do just incase you're looking for some Sunday inspiration:
Read
I love reading - so much so that I studied Literature at University, however, I never seem to find much time during the week to read more than a few pages. Lazy Sunday's at home with a book, blanket and mug of hot chocolate are my favourite.
Pamper
Most Sunday evenings I find the time to take a huge bubble bath (usually filled with numerous Lush goodies) and give myself a bit of a pamper. I've found this is also the perfect chance to crack out the body scrubs and hair masques and paint my nails.
Walk
Weather permitting, I love going for a scenic country walk, especially when it's cold outside as nothing feels better than getting warmed up and snug again once you get home. It also helps me feel refreshed and energised for the rest of the day.
Bake
Sunday's are a great day for a little bit of indulgence so whipping up a fresh batch of cookies or cupcakes makes the perfect treat. I also like to use the time to experiment with new recipes and make the things I wouldn't normally have time to during the week.
Clean
I love spending an hour on a Sunday morning cleaning and tidying the apartment and putting on fresh bedding. If I have a little bit longer to spare then there's also something really therapeutic about reorganising my wardrobe...or desk...or make-up storage...or even my kitchen utensils. You get the picture...
Blog
As I work full time during the week, Sunday finally gives me a chance to blog and catch up on whatever has been going on in the internet world. If there's enough sunlight during the day, it's also an opportunity to take photos for my posts.
What are your favourite things to do on a Sunday?

Having 'nothing' to do is the best type of Sunday :) xx
DeleteI'm that kinda person that I can't relax, but lately I've been trying on sundays to just relax or atlas try. If I'm with the boy it's a sunday movie night and dinner, but if i'm home that's when I tend todo more. I tend todo the sorta the same things as you, I catch up on my blogs/social media and what not. Gives me a chance to finish blogs or start them, I tend todo this and have a mask on my face and tending to my skin. What a great post

I love watching a film on a Sunday night with the boyfriend too - it's a great way to relax if you struggle to switch off completely :) xx
DeleteI used to be like you too! Always dreading that Monday morning alarm. I am trying this year to not schedule anything in for a Sunday morning. That's my chance to laze in bed with my husband if I want to. Or not, if we feel like getting up and going for a walk we can do that too. This year I want to slow down. Not rush so much, and just enjoy the little moments. Life is too short to waste it worrying about being 1min late to something, or that the day is "wasted" if lying in bed is what you need, then it isn't a waste!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't put it better myself - Sunday's are definitely the best time to slow down and enjoy the small things :) xx
DeleteSundays are my favorite day of the week, even if I just stay home all day and watch tv. Actually, those are my favorite type of sundays :)
